We are PPG Asian Paints - a joint venture between PPG and Asian Paints. We are the leading solution provider in the coatings space, leveraging strengths of parents who have leadership status in their respective domains.

Our purpose is to protect and beautify the world through innovative, safe and sustainable coatings solutions, delighting customers, developing communities and broadening our horizon across all market segments.

PPG Asian Paints is committed to supporting the communities in which we have our presence. We have undertaken CSR initiatives to focus on what is right for our employees, customers, community and the environment.

Launched in 2016, our Colourful Communities initiative endeavors to transform a community space or building by giving it new life and vitality. Through volunteerism, financial contributions and PPG Asian Paints products, we undertake projects like giving local classrooms an eye-catching makeover, re-painting dull hospital corridors with uplifting colours and creating murals in libraries. This has brightened up the lives of the locals and made their surroundings more inspiring. Since then we have completed 6 such projects in India covering locations like kolkata, Agra, Pondicherry and Chennai.

Our most recent project was transforming a school in Mahabhallipuram near to our Chennai business location, Tamil Nadu. PPG Asian Paints supplied the products and partnered with an NGO called ‘Hand in Hand’ to handle administrative tasks. About 200 employees, including the company’s leadership team, Refinish Business Sales teams along with employees from our Sriprembudur & Pondicherry factories have participated in beautifying the school. We aim to continue improving and energizing communities around the country.

Education is a key enabler of social change and a better society. In education we aspire to contribute to improving and facilitating the literacy levels in various sections of the society, by providing support at every stage of a child’s educational cycle. .

We focus on education in our communities through a variety of programs that address the critical issues faced by them. This includes -

Child labor & street and runaway children
Slum children & children of poorest of the parents Our Education program are designed to provide support to children
To promote better educational accessibility
To generate learning interest of the target group children
To enhance their learning abilities to bring them at age appropriate learning levels and improve their learning outcomes
To provide opportunities for holistic development
To help them cope up with the challenges of formal schooling

Majority of the children are first generation of school goers. We are currently supporting 13 schools through our interventions in Mumbai, Kanchipuram, TamilNadu, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, that covers more than 5000 children.

Skill development for less privileged youth ( men & women) is one of the focus areas while working in the neighboring communities. We are running community colleges and skilling centers in rural and urban areas to empower village Youth and Women by creating employment leading to self reliance.

Unemployed youth from urban and rural areas are mobilized, counselled, assessed for their strengths and aspirations and put through training programs which are aligned to the job market requirements. Courses that are currently being offered at various skilling centers are:

For rural youth: Computer Operator, Tailoring, AC Technician, Lab Technician, Hand Embroidery, Dairy
For Urban Youth- Retail Management All the courses include components of digital literacy, basic communication and life skills. These centers are spread across all our plant sites in Sriprembudur, Pondicherry, Ahmedabad & our Corporate office location in Mumbai.

We are not only supporting the children and youth of the village but also tries to engage with our neighboring communities by running various activities for villagers: Health Cents: Deploying primary care at the village level increases the chances of identifying illnesses at an early stage. In turn, this would improve the productivity and quality of life of the rural people. We funded the initiative of setting up a rural health clinic in Mambakkam that is executed by an NGO, ‘Sevalaya".’ A team with a qualified medical practitioner, paramedic and counsellor is deployed at the center to provide basic health services with medicines that are issued free of cost. Patients requiring additional care are referred to a special clinic and are tracked continuously. Library: A free library with a large selection of books that the villagers can avail of is organized and maintained.

Evening Tuition Centre: Keeping in view that most children belong to first generation school goers, we have organized teachers who support children for their school work and help them overcome various problems in their understanding. RO Water Purifier: Local communities often rely on ground and surface sources of water which are prone to contamination. Alternatively, they depend on private water supply which is not only scarce, but also unaffordable. We funded a centralized water purification facility on the land that was donated by the Panchayat. Residents now have a sustainable source of clean drinking water at a subsidized cost.
